Water jug
Name of item :
Water Jug
Function :
to holds water and help it to pour to another container
How to clean :
use liquid soap, spons, and clean water
Water jug is jug that holds water.
And jug is a large bottle with anarrow mouth.
Jugs have been in use since the days of
the Anglo-Saxons jugs have changed little in form over the centuries. Despite
being in existence for a long time, the word jug did not become part of the
English language until the 15th century. The Anglo-Saxons used jugs made of
clay but they were hand shaped rather than being created on a wheel, which is
the traditional method today. Rather than clay, the Vikings used jugs which
were made of leather.
In Roman times jugs made of glass or clay were used to transport and store
food and so jugs were an extremely important part of everyday life. The Roman
government imported food from Spain and Africa and then distributed it freely
to their citizens and established a distribution network which ensured that
there weren’t food shortages.
The Romans also used amphorae. These were jugs made from terracotta with
reinforced bases making them strong enough to store wine, olive oil or grapes.
The Romans were famous for their aqueducts and so people used jugs, usually
carrying them balanced on their heads, to collect water from the aqueducts and
take them to their homes. The Romans were quite advanced in terms of their
jug-making and their glass jugs often had the name of the contents of the jug
stamped on the bottom.
corkscrew
name of item :
corkscrew
function :
to help opened the wine bottle
how to clean :
use wet napkin
corkscrew is an instrument typically consisting of a metal spiral with a sharp point at one end and a transverse handle at the other, used for drawing corks from bottles.
The English were the first to seal their wine bottles and
make wine storage possible. Before glass blowing technology was perfected, wine
was unable to safely age, so it had to be drunk as soon as possible. Wine
bottle corkscrews were naturally invented around that same time in order to
remove the cork seal.
The earliest reference to a corkscrew was in late 1681 and was described
as a “steel worm used for the drawing of corks out of bottles.” Many things
were stored in bottles at that time, so this particular device might not have
specifically been a wine bottle corkscrew. The exact inventor of the corkscrew
is unknown, but it is largely believed to have derived from a similar device
that would remove bullets stuck in rifles. However, the first known patent on
the corkscrew dates back to 1795 by a Samuel Henshall of England. That was only
the beginning. His design was followed by countless more.
From to the mid-1900s, several different types of bottle corkscrews were
patented in several countries in Europe and North America. Carl Wienke of
Germany invented the single-level corkscrew, nicknamed “The Butler’s Friend,”
and is one of the more well-known and still exists today. Other popular designs
of the time include the British A1 Heeley Double Lever and the American
patented “The Walker Bell.” Edwin Walker’s design pushed down upon the
bottle, which allowed the cork to lift out. This type of wine bottle corkscrew
is still considered one of the best ways to remove older or more fragile corks.
With all of these different designs and patents, it’s no wonder that we have a
wide variety of different wine bottle corkscrews today.
cheese melter
name of item :
cheese melter
function :
to help melting the piece of big cheese
how to clean :
use dry napkin
cheesemelter is a cooking device used
primarily in commercial restaurant kitchens. Powered by direct flame or
electricity, these long, toaster-like
appliances allow cooks to put finishing touches on dishes, especially those
topped with shredded cheese.
It is
closely related to the Salamander broiler though it offers more fine control
for browning a dish at the end of the cooking cycle. It is also less expensive
and easier to use than a salamander.
A Cheesemelter is commonly mounted over and to the back
of a range. It also provides heat from above that is focused downward, but the
temperature output of a Cheesemelter is typically much lower than that of a
Salamander. Instead of a cooking grate and grease pan, the typical Cheesemelter
will feature something more like an oven rack with a crumb tray. Producing much
less heat, Cheesemelters are commonly used to brown au gratin dishes and melt
cheese on nacho chips or open-faced sandwiches. They are sometimes used to warm
and hold plates.
As manufacturers work to improve the design and versatility of their
products, many Cheesemelters now feature higher temperature outputs and
increased functionality. Additionally, at least one manufacturer offers a
European style Salamander where the heat source is lowered to the food, rather
than vice versa. When deciding on which is right for you, by whatever name, be
sure to check the unit’s capabilities against your intended application. Find
out, before you buy, whether the unit will perform the cooking and/or finishing
functions that your menu requires.
